After July 2021, the 2.3.x release line will no longer receive quality updates, or user guide updates. PHP 7.3 reaches end of support in December 2021 and Adobe Commerce 2.3.x reaches end of support in September 2022. We strongly recommend planning your upgrade now to Adobe Commerce 2.4.x to help maintain PCI compliance.

International Shipping

The information on this page is intended for Adobe Commerce 2.3 customers who are on an extended support contract. The Adobe Commerce Merchant Documentation for current releases is published on the Adobe Experience League.

Due to the shutdown of Temando, the provider of the technology behind Magento Shipping, it is no longer possible to create a new Magento Shipping account. For detailed status information and recommendations for new shipping implementations in Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source, see the shipping solutions page.

International item/shipment data can be pre-filled for a customer at checkout, if the information is defined for the products in the order. Pre-filled data requires configuration in Magento Attribute Mapping and defining the shipping settings for each Magento product.

International item/shipment settings are defined for a product in the Shipping tab in Product Settings.

International settings include:

  • Country of Origin - The country from which the item will be shipped.

  • HS Code - The Harmonized System is an international classification of products. It allows participating countries to classify traded goods on a common basis for customs purposes. At the international level, the Harmonized System (HS) for classifying goods is a six-digit code system.

Define International Shipping Data

  1. On the Admin sidebar, choose Catalog and then Products.

  2. Locate the item in the product list and click Edit in the Action column.

  3. Scroll down and expand the Shipping section.

  4. For Country of Origin, choose the country from which the item will be shipped.

  5. For HS Code, enter the HS (Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System) code for the item.

See UN Trade Statistics for for help identifying HS codes.

When the Shipping tab is defined for a product, these values (along with any other mapped attributes) are used to pre-fill international item details during order fulfillment.
